Safeguard the welfare of mine workers and communities. Foster innovation and sustainable mining practices. Key Functions Granting Exploration Licenses (ELs) and Mining Leases (MLs). Conducting mine inspections and enforcing safety regulations. Collecting royalties and rents from mining operations. Supporting the welfare and rights of mine labor. Collaborating with public and private sector stakeholders to enhance mineral development. Our Structure The department operates through three specialized wings: Directorate General Balochistan - Responsible for licensing and revenue collection. Inspectorate of Mines Balochistan - Ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Commissionerate of Mines Labour Welfare - Focused on the welfare and rights of mine workers. In addition, two public sector companies, Balochistan Mineral Resources Limited (BMRL) and Balochistan Mining & Exploration Company (BMEC), operate under the department's umbrella to drive exploration and value-added initiatives.
