The discussions focused on their applications for Exploration Licenses targeting critical minerals, including Copper, Antimony, Lead, and Zinc, vital for both provincial development and national industrial growth.

This collaborative initiative with the Geophysics Department, University of Balochistan—funded by the Government of Balochistan under the Capacity Building Project—provided our officers with practical, field-ready skills.
Equipping our team with cutting-edge knowledge is key to driving responsible and data-driven mineral exploration in the province. We are building the expertise needed to steward Balochistan’s geological wealth for future generations.
Koh-e-Sultan Mining Company, KMCL, (operated byMetallurgical Corporation of China) briefed Director General Mines and Minerals Balochistan and his team on an updated feasibility study for Siah Diq project in an online session.
Key figures from the study include:
• Capital Investment: ~$2 Billion USD
• Resource (S2 Block): 883 million tonnes @ 0.52% Cu average grade
Concentrate Production: 399.3k tonnes per annum
• Total Contained Copper: ~4.55 million tonnes
• Mine Life: 27+ years
With 2-3 years of development ahead before production begins, and the S1 ore block holding further potential for subsequent development phases, Siah Diq project will be one of the key drivers for long-term growth and sustainable development in Balochistan’smining sector.
