Vision:

“To promote health and safety in the mining sector by effectively implementing the Mines Act of 1923, along with its rules and regulations, to minimize accidents and enhance the safety standards in the mining industry of Balochistan.”

Mission:

“The Inspectorate of Mines, Balochistan is committed to ensuring a safe and healthy mining industry. This is achieved by reducing mining-related fatalities, injuries, and occupational diseases through the implementation of national policies, the Mines Act of 1923, and associated rules and regulations. Additionally, we provide expert advice and apply systems that monitor and enforce compliance with the law within the Balochistan mining sector.”

Function of Inspectorate of Mines, Balochistan:

The Chief Inspectorate of Mines is established to perform following functions:

• Safety of mines and mine workers through inspections of mine sites
• Mine Disaster Management including rescue and recovery; and forecasting of dangers through mines environment sample testing
• Human Resource Development through teaching and training

Inspectorate of Mines, Balochistan is attached department of Mines & Mineral, Development Department, Govt of Baluchistan Chief Inspector of Mines head the department. Two wings have been established for the purpose of carrying out its functions and activities including

1. Inspection Wing: for conducting Inspections of Mines, Prosecutions of defaulters and Inquiries of accidents.
2. Rescue and Safety Wing: is responsible for Rescue, Safety, Training of technical staff and mine workers, dealing mines emergencies, opening, and sealing of mine, fire stoppings in irrespirable atmosphere and mine sample testing and research. As described below in table.

Functions and activities corresponding to their responsible offices are briefed as follows:

 OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the department is to ensure Health and Safety of the mine workers. The safety aspect is covered under the provisions of Mines Act, 1923, Coal Mines Regulation 1926, Metalliferous Mines Regulations, 1926 and Consolidated Mines Rules1952, Electricity Rules, 1937 and Rules, regulations and By-laws made thereunder. This job is performed through the regular inspections by the qualified Inspectors of Mines.
